SPLAT
SCIENCE
"Making Science Splat~tacular!"
Adam Thornton's
Grow plants without soil.

Supplies: Splat Jelly Gems, Water, Glass, Food Coloring, and Seeds.

What happens: Place your jelly gems in a glass and drip a few drops of food coloring on
them.  Next fill the glass with water and watch them grow for the next 20 minutes. Try 1
tablespoon of Jelly Gems for each cup of water...add more water if necessary.  You can
color each glass a different color and pour them into a clear vase (one layer at a time).

Explanation: These super absorbent polymers are helping other parts of the world that lack
rain.  These gems quickly absorb water and slowly release it allowing plants to grow in
harsh/dry conditions.  Try growing a plant for your favorite teacher!  Pick up a jar in the
Splat Shop.
