Skewer Through Balloon

What if you could poke a giant skewer into a balloon without scotch tape?

Supplies: Sand Paper, Wooden Skewers, Vaseline, Balloons.

What happens: Purchase some skewers from your local grocery store.  Carefully sand the
skewer without hurting the sharp end.
(SKEWERS ARE VERY VERY SHARP. WEAR YOUR
SAFETY GOGGLES AND THROW AWAY WHEN DONE.)
Now wipe vaseline on the entire
stick.  Blow up your balloon and tie it.  Push the skewer through the top and bottom (rubber
is a little thicker there).

Explanation: The balloon does not pop because of the air tight seal from the sharp skewer.
Sanding it also helped stop friction that can cause popping.

Object Lesson: Deflating Life
Sin is like this balloon and skewer.  We think sin won't hurt or harm us...but all sin
eventually leads to death.  Take the skewer out of this balloon and watch how it
deflates...you may not even notice it deflating.  Sin is like that...slowly sucking the life out of
your body while it gets a stronger and stronger grip on you.

Only one can set you free from your sins and addictions.  Nobody realizes what a grip sin
has on them until they try to give it up.  Praise God He sent His Son Jesus to set us free
from eternal punishment in hell and from our sins.  God's only Son Jesus came to earth and
died on the cross for your sins - that means He paid the price for your sins!  You broke
God's Law but God has willingly paid your fine with His own child's life. (and then Jesus rose
from the dead!)

But you must choose to let Him take your punishment...will you tell Him today that you want
Him to take your punishment?  There is nothing more important that this...not your school,
friends, or next competition...choose Jesus while you still can.
